ELMSFORD, N.Y., Dec. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NanoVibronix, Inc, (NASDAQ: NAOV), a medical device company utilizing the Company’s proprietary and patented low intensity surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology, today announced, in partnership with Morulaa HealthTech, NanoVibronix’s marketing partner in India, that they signed a new distribution agreement for UroShield® with Cnergy Group of Companies. Cnergy is one of the leading medical device distributors in India, headquartered in Chennai, Tamilnadu, with over 100 employees.
UroShield™ is an ultrasound-based product that is designed to prevent bacterial colonization and biofilm on indwelling urinary catheters and increase antibiotic efficacy, ultimately reducing the incidence of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI). UroShield is also intended to decrease pain and discomfort associated with urinary catheter use.
Within India, hospital acquired infections (HAIs) are a leading cause of morbidity, and over 40% of all HAIs are believed to be CAUTI related. These infections generally result in increased use of antibiotics, longer stays in hospitals and an overall increase in healthcare costs.
Brian Murphy, CEO of NanoVibronix, commented, “India represents an attractive market for UroShield® as there is a significant, unmet need for a noninvasive solution for the prevention of urinary tract infections. Currently, antibiotics are the only available treatment option. Both NanoVibronix and Morulaa are excited to have Cnergy as a channel partner. Cnergy has strong relationships with many of the top key opinion leaders and medical institutions across India.”
