TORONTO, Dec. 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Northland Power Inc. (“Northland”) (TSX: NPI) announces that it has completed the early redemption of its 5.00% extendible convertible unsecured subordinated debentures, Series B, originally due June 30, 2019 (the “Debentures”).
Northland had approximately $77.0 million aggregate principal amount of the Debentures outstanding when it issued a redemption notice on November 16, 2018. As permitted under the terms of the Debentures, certain holders of Debentures converted their Debentures into Common Shares prior to the December 21, 2018 redemption date. As a result, Northland redeemed approximately $22.9 million of Debentures in cash and approximately $54.1 million of Debentures were converted into Common Shares by their holders. The conversions resulted in the issuance of 2,504,670 new Common Shares, bringing the total number of Common Shares outstanding to 179,201,743.
