VANCOUVER, BC–(Marketwired – May 04, 2016) – Smartcool Systems Inc.(TSX VENTURE: SSC) (OTCQB: SSCFF) is pleased to announce the addition of a new distributor operating primarily in Ireland (Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland) and branded as “Smartcool Ireland.” While the agreement was signed in the fourth quarter of 2015, there has been considerable activity in the early part of this year. Several pilot installations of Smartcool’s energy efficiency technology have been completed across various market sectors.
Most recently, Smartcool Ireland was invited to exhibit at “The Energy Event 16” in Dublin in the Energia Group booth, showcasing Smartcool’s HVAC efficiency technology. Energia Group is part of the Viridian Group, providing electrical energy to customers in Ireland. There was significant interest in Smartcool products at the show from companies in the Health, Technology, Manufacturing and Telecom sectors. This has lead to requests for quotations with numerous public and private sector enterprises.
Smartcool Ireland has applied for Energy Efficiency Grants both in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Business Director of Smartcool Ireland Cormac Mac Artain commented, “We are very confident that pending preliminary monitoring and verification of the product’s saving performance, that our application will be successful and we are very excited to initiate the roll out of the Smartcool product range to the Commercial/Industrial sector on the Island of Ireland over the remainder of 2016 and beyond.”
Steven Martin, EVP UK and EMEA, stated, “We are very pleased to be working with Cormac and his team in Ireland. The high level of interest demonstrated at the recent Energy show, suggests that many new sales may be forthcoming. Ireland has one of the highest electricity kWh costs in Europe. Should Smartcool Ireland be awarded efficiency grants, this would create significant additional incentive to deploy Smartcool’s energy efficiency technologies in Ireland.”
