Star Comments on EgyptAir Loss

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – May 24, 2016) – Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SNA)(OTCBB:SNAVF) (“Star” or the “Company”) offers its condolences to the families and friends of those lost aboard EgyptAir MS804.

Jean-Louis Larmor, Chief Operating Officer of Star said:

“As the World looks on yet again as search and rescue personnel attempt to locate a downed airliner, we emphasize the need to have as much precise information immediately available after an incident as possible, in order to locate the wreckage, organize the possible rescue, understand what happened and, hopefully, to learn from it. We read in the press that systems exist today that allow tracking of an aircraft continuously. Why then do we continue to hear about a “search for a lost aircraft”? The emotion is understandable but we must realize that many of these services are partial and may not give completely accurate information. What is needed is:

– Real Time and accurate tracking and positioning of the aircraft, not based on a tier system or service providers interpreting radar or transponder signals. No delay, no interpretation, no coverage blind zone

– Information on the key systems and parameters of the aircraft that can help understand what has happened before an eventual recovery of the flight data recorders.

Star Navigation has worked with International Regulatory bodies such as ICAO and IATA and contributed to their recommendations regarding tracking and information streaming after the AF 447 and MH370 losses.

Star has demonstrated that it is possible, today, to have an on-board system independently sending tracking information, together with key aircraft data on a continuous basis or immediately triggered by abnormal behavior of the aircraft. “

Through communication by satellite, this can be done worldwide.
