RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC–(Marketwired – June 08, 2016) – Top ten pharmaceutical companies’ country-level affiliate HEOR department heads claimed the greatest annual salaries at an average base pay of $350,000 with a potential $193,000 in bonus compensation, according to a study published by Cutting Edge Information. These department heads’ average base salaries alone exceed the potential maximum compensation of all other affiliate-level HEOR team members.
The study, Building World-Class HEOR Teams: Creating Convincing Value Propositions for Payers, found that among top ten companies’ country-level affiliate HEOR executives, management positions have higher earnings than HOLs and HOER analysts. Entry-level HOLs have the lowest average salary and bonus combination at an estimated $123,000. Experienced HOLs generate an average annual income of approximately $136,000.
“There is a wide range of salaries reported from country-level affiliate groups, especially in comparison to their global counterparts,” said Jacob Presson, data product team leader at Cutting Edge Information. “Top 50 HEOR teams’ tier management positions average $117,000 per year while Top 10 country-level department heads make around $443,000 per year.”
Top 10 companies’ HEOR analysts could potentially earn higher compensation in a year compared to experienced HOLs; $141,000 compared to $136,000. However, HOLs have a higher annual salary — an average of $130,000 compared to analysts who average $119,000.
