Canoe Financial Announces Fund Risk Rating and Sub-Advisory Changes

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(Marketwired – June 22, 2016) – Canoe Financial LP (Canoe) today announced a change to the risk rating for Canoe Global Income Fund & Canoe Global Income Class (the Funds) from “low to medium” to “low”, effective June 23, 2016. Canoe follows a risk classification methodology based on the approach recommended by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada using both quantitative and qualitative considerations conducted on an annual basis. Applying this risk rating methodology, which assesses risk primarily based upon the volatility of past returns for a mutual fund, Canoe has determined that it is appropriate to lower the expected risk rating for the Funds to “low”. No changes have been made to the investment objective, strategy or management of the Funds.

Canoe has also decided to internalize management of Canoe Canadian Corporate Bond Fund which will be managed by Marc Goldfried, Canoe’s Chief Investment Officer and Head of Fixed Income, starting July 4, 2016. Canoe has terminated its sub-advisory agreement with Stanton Asset Management Inc. effective July 1, 2016.
