TORONTO, ON–(Marketwired – November 03, 2016) – Canadian Real Estate Investment Trust (“CREIT”) (TSX: REF.UN) today announced results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2016.
For the three months ended September 30, 2016, CREIT reported Funds from Operations (“FFO”) of $0.79 per Unit, an increase of 3.9% over the same period in 2015. The results include lease termination income of $1.1 million earned during the three months ended September 30, 2016. Excluding the impact of lease termination income, FFO for the current quarter increased by 2.6% ($0.78 per Unit in the third quarter of 2016 up from $0.76 per Unit in the same period of 2015).
Stephen Johnson, CREIT’s Chief Executive Officer, stated, “We are very pleased with our financial performance. Notwithstanding the meaningful decline in net operating income from our Calgary office portfolio, we have been able to deliver solid FFO growth in the third quarter and year-to-date.”
For the nine months ended September 30, 2016, CREIT reported FFO of $2.44 per Unit, an increase of 7.5% over the same period in 2015. The results include lease termination income of $7.9 million earned during the nine months ended September 30, 2016 and $0.2 million earned for the same period in 2015. Excluding the impact of lease termination income in both periods, FFO increased by 2.6% over the prior year ($2.33 per Unit in 2016 up from $2.27 per Unit in 2015).
