(TSX VENTURE:AAN) (“Aton” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Rick Cavaney has been appointed Vice President, Exploration, and Mr. Javier Orduna, Head of Exploration. The appointment of Messrs. Cavaney and Orduna greatly increases the Company’s geological and exploration experience and are timely additions as Aton advances Hamama West to an initial resource. Hamama West is one of three zones that comprise the Hamama project, situated within Aton’s 100% owned Abu Marawat concession, located in Egypt.

About Mr. Cavaney
Mr. Cavaney is a registered professional geologist with over 45 years of experience in international exploration and consulting for junior, mid-tier and senior companies. Rick spent eight years, from 1996-2004, with Centamin, as the exploration manager at Sukari. In addition to his work at Sukari, Mr. Cavaney also completed some of the original exploration work at the Abu Marawat gold deposit and the Hamama project when Abu Marawat concession was held by Centamin. Rick has extensive exploration experience in Africa and prior to joining Aton was managing a drill program in the Migori Belt in Kenya. Mr. Cavaney has also worked in Zimbabwe, Namibia and Ghana, where he carried out regional mapping of the Tarkwa Belt and outlined and prioritized target areas. Rick has also held senior exploration positions with MIM, ASARCO and Carpentaria Exploration Company. Mr. Cavaney holds an MSc in Exploration and Mining Geology, James Cook University of North Queensland, an MSc (Hons.), Geology, University of Otago (New Zealand) and a B.Sc., Geology, University of New Zealand, Otago.

Javier has over twenty years of experience and has extensive knowledge of VMS deposits, having recently worked at Barrick Gold Corporation’s Jabal Sayid project. In addition to his exploration expertise, Mr. Orduna also has an excellent understanding of the issues related to working in culturally sensitive and remote, challenging regions. Javier has managed and supervised numerous studies and programs, including resource, hydrological, geotechnical, geochemical and drilling. Mr. Orduna holds a B.Sc. (Hons.), Geology, University of Southampton, UK, an MSc (MCSM), Mining Geology, Camborne School of Mines, UK, and an MSc (DIC), Mineral Project Appraisal, Imperial College, London, UK.
