Birst Introduces Networked BI and Analytics Platform as a FedRAMP SaaS Compliant Cloud Service for U.S. Government Agencies

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – Nov 15, 2016) – Birst, the global leader in Cloud BI and Analytics for the Enterprise, today announced that the Birst Networked BI and Analytics platform is now available as a FedRAMP Authorized cloud service through Project Hosts’ Federal Private Cloud. The Birst platform eliminates analytical data silos within U.S. government agencies, including the DoD, and provides a secure platform to improve the speed, alignment, and economics of business intelligence across multiple departments.

Birst’s Networked BI platform redefines the way BI is delivered and consumed. It enables centralized and decentralized BI applications to be transparently connected via a shared analytical data fabric, delivering local execution with agency-wide governance. Networked BI virtualizes the entire analytics and data ecosystem, enabling the transformation of an agency’s approach to analytics.

“With Birst available as a FedRAMP compliant cloud service, government agencies can now realize the inherent value of a truly agile Networked BI platform, while also complying with the U.S. government’s FedRAMP security mandate for cloud-based services,” said Rick Spickelmier, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at Birst. “By partnering with Project Hosts, the Birst Networked BI platform is now available in a FedRAMP Authorized cloud.”

Networked BI virtualizes the entire analytics and data ecosystem, enabling the transformation of an agency’s approach to analytics. Birst creates a set of interwoven analytics and BI instances that share a common data-as-a-service fabric. This enables agencies to expand the use of BI across multiple regions, departments and customers in a more agile way, and empowers decentralized teams to augment agency data with their own local data.

“We are very excited to work with Birst, a recognized leader in Networked BI and Analytics,” said Scott Chapman, CEO and co-founder of Project Hosts, Inc. “We have incorporated the Birst Networked BI platform software directly into the DoD network of our Azure FedRAMP cloud and have ensured that all of the required security controls are in place to maintain both SaaS-level FedRAMP compliance and DISA IL4 compliance. This will enable Birst to deliver and market its unique BI and analytics solution to all government agencies, including Department of Defense, as a FedRAMP SaaS-level compliant cloud service.”
