SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE–(Marketwired – Oct. 18, 2016) – Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation will showcase its latest integrated mobility solutions that are connecting Asia’s rapidly growing cities at the LTA-UITP Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition (SITCE), held in Singapore from October 19 to 21. Taking center stage is Bombardier’s versatile portfolio of driverless urban transit technologies that support the rising trend of urbanization while enabling cities to rapidly deliver convenient and reliable high capacity mass transit.
At the event, Bombardier will highlight some of its recent mobility projects that are creating substantial benefits for operators, passengers, and the environment. For example, a scale model of the BOMBARDIER MOVIA metro for Singapore’s Downtown Line will be on display. Two months ago Bombardier delivered the 276th and final driverless MOVIA metro car for Singapore’s new 42km underground line. On average, there are more than 250,000 daily rides on the new Bombardier metros and these lightweight MOVIA vehicles deliver greater energy savings for the local operator compared to existing fleets of similar technology and capacity.
In Malaysia, the first driverless BOMBARDIER INNOVIA metro 300 train will enter service by year’s end and provide seamless travel for passengers in Kuala Lumpur. This latest generation metro is expected to help meet the increased capacity demands on the newly-expanded Kelana Jaya line.
Bombardier’s state-of-the-art rail control solutions are also boosting connectivity elsewhere across Asia. The globally-proven BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 communications-based train control (CBTC) system is currently being installed for fully automatic operation on Lines 1 and 2 of the new Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area. In addition, the CBTC technology entered operation on Bangkok’s new Mass Rapid Transit Purple Line in August, extending safe, reliable and high capacity rail transportation to new areas in the Thai capital. Bombardier has also provided the signaling for two lines on Bangkok Mass Transit’s Skytrain.
The BOMBARDIER MOVIA Maxx metro also offers maximum value based on a modular and flexible single solution while, as a world leader in automated people mover technology, the BOMBARDIER INNOVIA APM system maintains an unprecedented track record for reliability and dependability across the globe with more than four decades of successful operation.
Meet the Bombardier team at SITCE at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 19-21, 2016 in Hall 401, stand D4.
