BROSSARD, QUEBEC–(Marketwired – Sept. 14, 2016) – DIAGNOS Inc. (“DIAGNOS” or the “Corporation”) (TSX VENTURE:ADK), a leader in the use of knowledge extraction and artificial intelligence (“IA”) tools, announces that 131 claims covering 37 kimberlite targets were staked using our proprietary Computer Aided Resource Detection System “CARDS” methodology for screening out and prioritizing anomalies. Some of these targets are located directly beside the first Quebec’s Diamond Mine (Renard Diamond project) and the new kimberlites discoveries, announced by Stornoway May 5, 2016 on their Adamantin project.
CARDS uses powerful pattern recognition algorithms to analyse digitally compiled exploration data and identifies areas (targets) with signatures similar to known areas of kimberlites. During the months of January 2016 to March 2016, over 23,912 km2 were subject to the evaluation by DIAGNOS in the Northern Quebec region between the 50th and the 55th parallels using a mosaic of two leveled and merged airborne magnetic-spectrometric surveys of the South LG4 and the High Eastmain areas, Baie James. Twelve known kimberlite pipes of the Renard and the Beaver Lake originated from the Sigeom database and from the Stornoway Diamond Corporation where used as positive training data. Two different models, such as the Kimberlite Similarity algorithm (KSM) and the Positive-Negative algorithm, at a 60m resolution were generated over the South LG4-High Eastmain modeling area. DIAGNOS generated and staked two groups of 9 and 28 Kimberlite Pipe Targets based on two levels of similarity at 95% and 90%.
“As I’ve heard many times in the past, the best place to find a mine is beside a mine. You can use the same method for kimberlites. In the past, our clients DIAGEM (http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/diagnos-announces-second-kimberlite-discovery-in-brazil-tsx-venture-adk-544837.htm) and Spyder/KWG (http://kwgresources.com/spider-and-kwg-announce-discovery-of-a-new-kimberlite-on-diagnos-initiative-project-ring-of-fire-area/) found a number of kimberlites using our CARDS system.
We are fortunate to have the chance to stake out many targets alongside the new diamond Renard mine, the Adamantin project and the new 167 extension road. On July 15, 2016, Stornoway announced the processing of ore that commenced at the Renard Diamond Project.” declared Michel Fontaine, Vice-President-Mining division of DIAGNOS.
About CARDS
DIAGNOS assists exploration companies in identifying mineral targets by using its CARDS technology, which makes possible the identification of sites having the same signature as known mineralized occurrences. DIAGNOS uses its proprietary technology to analyze geological, geophysical and geochemical data to enable the identification of patterns hidden in the large amount of data each customer owns.
