DIOS Clarkie project: two main gold-in-soil anomaly clusters identified along 3 km long exhalative sediment-hosted Wacky Gold Trend

MONTRÉAL, Feb. 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Management of DIOS EXPLORATION INC. is pleased to report  Fall 2018 results from its CLARKIE gold project, along Eleonore mine – Cheechoo corridor in Lower Eastmain Greenstone-belt.  The 2018 field work extended previous soil grid to the south-southeast of  Wacky-Slinky gold showing that had returned up to 6.8 & 8.8 g/t Au in grab-samples.

Gold anomalies are clustered two and three km SSE of Wacky respectively near Skippy (7, 17, 9 & 6 ppb gold) and Goofy (13, 14 & 15 ppb Au) targets: 12 out of 64 B-soils (or 18.75%) assayed 6 ppb gold or more and these gold-in-soil anomalies are all located along favourable NW-SE Wacky trend, a volcano-sedimentary contact hosting strong alterations (silicification & seritization) and pyritization and is well-marked by a magnetic lineament.  Both gold-in-soil anomaly clusters overlie volcanic rocks and both remain open to the west and values seem to increase towards the west.   Wacky-Slinky gold showings had returned in 2017 much lower gold anomalies (6-7ppb Au).  No other metals are anomalous in the soils

IN 2019, ANOTHER  PARALLEL VOLCANO-SEDIMENTARY CONTACT LOCATED MORE TO THE WEST WILL BE TARGETED AS ANOMALOUS CLUSTERS ARE OPEN TO THE WEST.  Also a 400 m long strike of the eastern trend will be systematically rock sampled as gold-in-rock values are not necessarily associated with high pyrite content.

Along Wacky Gold Trend, silicified wackes/silicate iron-formation unit laterally grades to silicified wackes/ silicified-sericitized felsic tuffs to the SE. Pyritization (1-2 to 1-10% pyrite) and alteration (moderate silica to strong silica and sericite) significantly increase and widen up to 25 m thick to the SE along a favourable volcano-sedimentary contact well-marked by a magnetic lineament. Conglomerate units were observed adjacent to the altered mineralized sedimentary horizon.

Wholly-owned CLARKIE (no royalties, 29.5 sq.km),) is a gold discovery in outcropping sediments of same type and age hosting Eleonore gold mine, James Bay, Quebec, near major Opinaca structure, some 25 km southeast of Cheechoo along Eleonore mine -Cheechoo corridor.   A significant gold-bearing glacial train (proprietary data) indicated an up-ice source area hosting the folded Clarkie sediments.  The program included prospecting-geological mapping totaling 195 rock samples, 18 blanks and 64 soil (1-2kg b-horizon) samples along E-W lines with 50m-spacing); all prepared and analyzed for gold (Au-AA23) and multi-elements (MEX-ICP41) at Val dOr ALS Global Laboratory.  Field work and rock mineralization and alteration descriptions were supervised by H. Desbiens, M.Sc. Geo 43-101 QP.
