THOMASVILLE, N.C., Nov. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is named to Forbes’ Global 2000 list of the World’s Best Employers.
The only company to earn a place on the list in the trucking category, Old Dominion ranked within the top 500 companies globally. The magazine compiled its Top 500 list by analyzing more than 430,000 employee recommendations from around the world. Companies on the World’s Best Employers list have high approval in areas including reputation and working conditions.
“Our people are the foundation of our ability to help our customers keep their promises, and we’re pleased that Forbes recognized our company for being a place where people are proud to work, and that our employees felt strongly enough to vocalize it,” said Greg Gantt, president and CEO at Old Dominion Freight Line.
Forbes previously recognized Old Dominion as a Best Employer in 2015.
“We provide jobs that offer a high quality of life for more than 23,000 employees across the U.S,” said Gantt. “More importantly, our OD Family culture that values safety, reliability, courtesy, responsiveness and professionalism continues to drive our business. Our customers can see it, and they know we’re able to consistently deliver outstanding customer service with the best, on-time services and lowest claims ratio.”
Forbes collaborated with research firm Statista to identify the top 500 companies, analyzing employee recommendations from global polling and regional surveys. Employees rated their own employer and the likelihood they would recommend the company to a friend or family member. Employees also recommend other employers they admired. The 500 companies receiving the highest total scores achieved the World’s Best Employers title.
