Marilyn will be honored today at the 27th annual Woman of the Year event in New York.
The HBA is the leading not-for-profit global organization committed to furthering the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide. Marilyn was recognized for her dedication to advancing other women’s careers throughout her more than 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Marilyn joined Horizon Pharma in July 2014 as senior director, government and public affairs and was promoted to her current position in October 2015. During her long tenure in the pharmaceutical industry, she has held numerous leadership roles in government affairs, managed markets and sales. Prior to joining Horizon Pharma, Marilyn spent 15 years at Takeda Pharmaceuticals where she was director, government affairs leading the company’s government and public affairs efforts for Illinois and nine other states in the Midwest. She also held roles as central area director, managed markets and national account manager while at Takeda; overseeing a team responsible for contracting in an 18 state area and the nation’s largest PBMs. Prior to Takeda, Marilyn spent seven years at Organon Inc. in several positions with increasing responsibility in managed markets and sales. Previously, she was an anchor and reporter at an NBC affiliate in Bismarck, N.D. for approximately four years. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in political science from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D.
