VANCOUVER, BC–(Marketwired – October 27, 2016) – Intrinsyc Technologies Corporation (TSX: ITC) (OTC: ISYRF) (“Intrinsyc” or the “Company”), a leading provider of solutions for the development of embedded and Internet of Things (“IoT”) products, today announced a development and supply agreement with innovative IoT health provider, Knit Health, Inc.
The Knit Health monitor incorporates Intrinsyc’s Open-Q™ 410 System on Module, powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 processor, a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. The Open-Q™ 410 is a powerful, miniature, and cost-effective embedded computing platform that supports the rapid commercial production of intelligent connected products across a variety of embedded computing and IoT industries. Products such as robotics, cameras, wearables, health devices, vending machines, building and home automation, and industrial control, are just some of the examples that benefit from this best in class platform.
Redefining the categories of baby monitors and sleep trackers, Knit Health has produced one of the most technologically advanced sleep monitoring systems. Until now, the world of baby monitors has focused on video/audio streams, and sleep tracking has focused on wearables. The Knit Health system consists of an easy-to-mount HD camera and a deep learning system which analyses a child’s pose, breathing and sleep throughout the night without wearables. And while the Knit camera is initially being marketed to parents of young children, the camera works on babies and adults alike. The Knit Health system is currently sold through Kickstarter.
“We are proud to be involved to help bring the Knit Health monitor to market as it is both an innovative product and one that provides an important service in monitoring and improving the well-being of our children,” stated Mark Waldenberg, Vice President, Global Sales, Intrinsyc.
“Intrinsyc has been an outstanding partner in helping us to accelerate our product development and commercial launch,” said David Janssens, CEO and co-founder of Knit Health. “The Open-Q™ 410 provides a cost-effective and powerful computing platform with advanced video capabilities that enable Knit Health to provide more features than any other product on the market, at a lower price point.”
