iPic® Entertainment Appoints Andrew Essex to Board of Directors Effective November 2018

BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — iPic® Entertainment (“iPic” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: IPIC), America’s premier luxury restaurant-and-theater brand, today announces that Andrew Essex has been appointed to serve on the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Essex joins the Board with extensive experience within the marketing and advertising industry.

Mr. Essex, the founder and CEO of Plan A, an NYC-based creative holding company previously served as CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, the parent company of the Tribeca Film Festival. Most notably he is the founder and former Vice Chairman and CEO for Droga5, one of the world’s most sought-after creative agencies, before it was acquired by the William Morris Endeavor Talent Agency in 2013.

Essex has also served as an award-winning journalist and editor at such publications as The New Yorker, Details and Salon.com, among others. He has been a television commentator for ABC, CNN, and CNBC. He is also the author of “The End of Advertising: Why It Had to Die and the Creative Resurrection to Come” and the co-author of three books.

Andrew currently serves on the board of the American Advertising Federation, a former advisor to the White House American Office of Innovation and the Wharton SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management. He additionally serves as an angel investor and advisor to myriad disruptive companies.
