Mkango Announces Exercise of Options

LONDON and VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mkango Resources Ltd. (AIM/TSX-V: MKA) (the “Company” or “Mkango”) announces that, in accordance with the terms of Option Plan for Directors and Employees of the Company which provides that options exercisable for common shares without par value in the share capital of the Company  issued pursuant the plan expire 90 days after the date of a director’s resignation, Mr David Berg and Mr Eugene Chen (former non-executive directors of the Company) have exercised their options over an aggregate of 1,620,000 common shares without par value in the share capital of the Company (“New Shares”).  1,260,000 of the options had an exercise price of C$0.06 per New Share and 360,000 of the options had an exercise price of C$0.07 per New Share for a total aggregate consideration of C$100,800.

The New Shares will rank pari passu with the existing shares and application has been made for the New Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM (“Admission”). It is expected that Admission will become effective and dealings in the New Shares will commence at 8:00a.m. on or around 9th January 2019. The New Shares will also trade on the Toronto Venture Exchange.

In accordance with the Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules (DTR 5.6.1R) the Company hereby notifies the market that immediately following Admission, its issued share capital will consist of 112,919,188. The Company does not hold any shares in treasury. Shareholders may use this figure as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA’s Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
