NeuLion Launches Enhanced Personalization Services for OTT Providers

PLAINVIEW, NY–(Marketwired – December 01, 2016) – NeuLion, Inc. (TSX: NLN), a leading technology product and service provider specializing in the broadcasting, distribution and monetization of live and on-demand digital video content to Internet-enabled devices, today announced the availability of its enhanced personalization services, available through the NeuLion® Digital Platform.

Personalization services consist of tailoring an OTT or TV Everywhere service to accommodate specific subscribers and segments of viewers. As these services gain momentum in the marketplace, marketing efforts to drive new subscriber activations and churn reduction are becoming a priority for content owners.

The NeuLion Digital Platform now offers its customers a wide variety of personalization features to improve customer satisfaction, digital sales conversion, marketing results, branding and advertising, and to better support their OTT and TV Everywhere services.

NeuLion’s technology implementation has taken a different path from its competition. Rather than traditional rules-based personalization used by other services, the NeuLion Digital Platform applies machine learning and statistical analysis to visitor behavior and viewer “watch data” to tailor category and video content pages without the need for rules configuration; making targeting effortless.

With personalization being a key element in social media, targeting and measuring each video subscriber’s true lifetime value, the NeuLion Digital Platform now offers:

  • The ability for viewers to personalize their experience based on advanced customization to deliver curated social content, custom schedules, videos and news-related content based on their selections
  • Personalized video content delivery based on real-time data, without setting up a single targeting rule
  • Monetization and merchandising of video content packages using aggregated behavioral data (those that viewed this, also viewed that) and personal recommendations (you previously bought this and might like that)

“UFC® launched its updated UFC FIGHT PASS® platform in conjunction with NeuLion earlier this year, and along with our customers around the world, we’ve been more than thrilled with the results,” UFC Senior Vice President and UFC FIGHT PASS General Manager Eric Winter said.

“Personalization is a key differentiator for OTT and TV Everywhere services,” said NeuLion’s President and CEO, Roy Reichbach. “As more and more services enter the marketplace, it is important to provide users with a unique, individual experience that increases subscriber activations and engagement. We are proud of our technology and the ability to offer content owners these features as part of the NeuLion Digital Platform.”
