The Western Investment Company to Hold its Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders on December 6, 2024

CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 17, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Western Investment Company of Canada Limited (TSXV: WI) (“Western” or the “Corporation”) today announces that its Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders (the “Meeting”) will take place on December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM Mountain Time with a shareholder record date of November 1, 2024. A revised Notice of Meeting and Record Date reflecting the updated dates is available on Sedar+ which can be found at www.sedarplus.ca.

Western Issues Options to Directors
In recognition of their contributions and service, and subject to regulatory approval, Western has granted stock options to four Directors of the Company. Each Director will receive options to purchase 30,000 common shares at an exercise price of $0.49 per share, representing the most recently available closing price on the TSX Venture Exchange. The options vest immediately and expire on October 16, 2034. Options are issued to directors in lieu of cash fees and retainers.
