Unisync Receives 18th NAUMD Design Award

TORONTO, ON–(Marketwired – May 09, 2017) – Unisync Corp. (TSX VENTURE: UNI) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Unisync Group Limited (“Unisync Group”) has been selected by the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (“NAUMD”) to receive the Image of the Year Award in the retail category for its recent redesign of the entire Image Apparel program for the national YMCA organization.

Founded in 1851, the YMCA of Canada has 47,000 employees and volunteers at 1,700 locations across Canada. Unisync led a committee of twelve YMCA leaders from locations across Canada that met over an eighteen-month period, assessing favored items from each of the twelve locations as well as new fabrics, colours and styles. The focus was on creating an upscale, professional yet athletic look. Comfort and performance were also key considerations, given the high-energy activities that take place at the “Y”. Unisync Group took the input of the entire committee and designed two complete programs. The committee took these two uniform designs to their various locations for feedback and voting prior to launching the two programs.

This most recent award is the 18th received by Unisync Group and its subsidiaries since joining the organization. YMCA now joins Kelsey’s, Purolator, Rexall, The Ottawa Hospital, Ornge, Yogen Früz, Caesars Windsor, Fallsview Casino, The Molson Canadian Amphitheatre (this is now called Budweiser Stage), Girl Guides, Boy Scouts of America, Holland America Cruise Line (2), Pan Pacific Hotel, BC Transit and Air North in award winning corporate apparel programs designed by Unisync Group’s in-house design team.

Since 1978, NAUMD has been recognizing the best workplace apparel programs with its Image of the Year Awards. Independent judges evaluate the programs on 1) originality of design, 2) projection of branding, 3) functionality for the job, and 4) use of technology and innovation.
