MARKHAM, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – May 17, 2016) – VIQ Solutions Inc. (“VIQ”, “VIQ Solutions” or the “Corporation”) (TSX VENTURE:VQS) is pleased to announce that the Judicial Services Commission of Zimbabwe (“JSC”) has expanded their VIQ installation into additional courtrooms as they continue their country-wide court modernization initiative.
The initial contract with JSC was announced in October of 2015 with the rollout taking place toward the end of the year. This new expansion phase will bring the total number of rooms in operation to almost 200, with courtrooms and transcription workstations located across Zimbabwe. The project is led by Digital Voice Processing, VIQ’s South Africa-based partner.
“As expected, the initial installation at the Zimbabwe High Courts and Magistrate Courts has proceeded smoothly and the project has now moved into a new growth phase,” said David Tilling, VIQ’s Regional Sales Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “We anticipate that the installation will continue to grow in 2016 as Zimbabwe brings more courthouses online as part of their ambitious country-wide modernization project.”
This installation marks the second expansion at an enterprise-level customer for VIQ in recent weeks. The Corporation was recently awarded an additional order for their country-wide Scottish court installation, with a third-party independent reviewer calling the VIQ platform “the ideal blend of technology and expertise.”
“As the continued growth of country-wide projects like Zimbabwe and Scotland demonstrate, VIQ is the global leader for the large-scale secure capture and management of mission-critical digital audio and video evidence,” said Sebastien Paré, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions Inc. “Our current global customer base includes a dozen sites that operate between 500 and 900 fully networked fixed and mobile rooms apiece and our flexible, modular software design makes it easy for these enterprise customers to add both additional rooms as well as additional functionality such as video capture, mobility, secure web portals and more.”
