VMware Smart Assurance delivers end-to-end network automation and intelligence extended into 5G RANLOS ANGELES, Oct. 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mobile World Congress 2019 – VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) today unveiled plans that will allow communication service providers (CSPs) to have a holistic view of the network from core to the edge to the radio access network (RAN) in its VMware Smart Assurance solution. A solution preview, which highlighted Cellwize automation and orchestration technology with VMware Smart Assurance, was on display in the VMware booth (Hall South, Stand 1714) today at Mobile World Congress Los Angeles.“As CSPs prepare for the rollout of modern networks, the ability to have complete visibility across the network – from RAN to the core and edge networks – as well as provide continuous monitoring and automated management, is increasingly imperative,” said Shekar Ayyar, executive vice president and general manager, Telco and Edge Cloud, VMware. “Network intelligence and management have been areas of focus for VMware, and we doubled down on that commitment with the recent acquisition of Uhana. Our discussions around incorporating Cellwize’s technology into VMware Smart Assurance have the potential to further extend these capabilities for our customers.”VMware Smart Assurance provides CSPs the operational intelligence they need to proactively manage their physical and virtual networks as one. The solution enables automated root cause analysis, impact correlation, analytics, and closed-loop actions to help CSPs maximize quality of service and uptime across their entire multi-vendor environment.Cellwize is a pioneer of RAN automation solutions that utilize machine learning to deliver an orchestrated zero-touch deployment, configuration, optimization and healing of mobile networks across a multitude of vendor and wireless technologies. VMware plans to build on Smart Assurance’s existing monitoring and network management capabilities and will enter into discussions with Cellwize to bring the technologies together to enable new capabilities.“At Cellwize, we focus on the next phase of automation and incorporate machine learning, making the self-driving network more intelligent, maximizing cost efficiencies and improving subscriber experience,” said Ofir Zemer, CEO of Cellwize. “We look forward to continuing collaboration with VMware to extend its RAN intelligence and automation capabilities.”Additional Resources:Learn more about how VMware is helping service providers modernize their networks at telco.vmware.com.Bookmark the VMware Telco NFV blogGet all VMware Telco updates on Twitter and LinkedInFollow VMware on Facebook, LinkedIn and TwitterAbout VMware
